Work has begun on the KPMG office building project by FWJK developers. With an estimated cost of US $33.19M, the offices are to be located on Christian Barnard street in Cape Town and will form the first row of the Roggebaai Office Precinct. Although the building will be shared with other tenants, KPMG will occupy 7,000m of the 19,000m space.
Gary Pickering, KPMG Managing Partner stated that the company chose the building due to green initiatives that will be incorporated in its construction. Electricity and water saving systems will be incorporated through use of light motion sensors inside the building and the parking bays. Other initiatives include the use of: heat glazing, wall kettles and water saving sanitary and brassware.
Spokesperson of FWJK- Craig Armstrong noted that this project will be the company’s second high-rise tower to be constructed in the city.
