ETHIOPIA: East African Bottling Share Company to set up a new plant

As part of plans to invest in Ethiopia, East African Bottling Share Company (EABSC) has started construction of a plant in Bahir DarDar, Amhara Regional State at a cost of US$21m. The plant will be construed on 30 hectares of land and is expected to be complete within 18 months and also to produce 15 million units per year.

EABSC has also announced plans to construct two other plants in other parts of the country. The company already runs two plants in Addis Ababa and Dire Dawa, Ethiopia.

East African Bottling is the Coca Cola Franchise bottler in Ethiopia under Coca Cola South Africa Bottling Company (CCSABCO).

The General Manager also stated that the company is working with Caba Impact- an Indian company to engage 2000 women in recycling plastic bottles in Ethiopia.
